I had heard that your eyesight changes in your forties... I have never needed glasses before but I began noticing that the words in my Bible seemed "fuzzy" in the mornings. I began noticing it a couple of months ago.
It took me a while to realize that maybe I needed some reading glasses.
The other moment of truth set in when I was looking through photo albums for one of the kid's school projects. I found some of our wedding pictures and realized that I am older now than my parents were when I got married. And I thought they were old when I got married! Ha!
I am not complaining though. While I don't really like seeing those wrinkles around my eyes(!!!), I would NEVER choose to to back to younger years. I do appreciate the perspective that extra years bring...
Like my one friend's daughter told her after seeing younger pictures of her (and styles she found embarrassing), "You're not getting older, Mom, you're getting better!"
Yes!
When I first had to succumb to reading glasses, I just thought "Oh, cool, another accessory!" They had so many cute styles to choose from. I must have at least half a dozen pairs. But then when I realized that they magnified the crows feet, I thought NOT SO COOL! Oh well, one more adjustment to aging.....
We are getting better, but just not our eyesight!!!

The good news about glasses is they cover up wrinkles AND dark circles! And... you can actually SEE what your husband is wearing now!!! The bad news is, now that I can see better, I can't hear!!!!! I am age 47, and I just got glasses for the very first time. My first attempt at glasses my 10-year-old son in 4th grade told me he was completely embarrassed to be seen with me in public because the glasses looked like "old grandma" glasses. So, I got a SECOND pair, and my son has approved my glasses now because I'm "cool" now... Well, now I need to start "dressing" younger to match my cool looking glasses!!!!!! Maybe we'll meet some day in church. My husband, son, and I visited APC last Saturday night. We really loved the church. My husband is age 45, and my son is age 10, and I am feeling really, really old since I am the same age MY PARENTS WERE when we got married!!!!! Well, it's 12 midnight, and I'm going to bed. My husband and son are camping this weekend, and I stayed up watching "romantic" movies all night (Enchanted, and Princess Diaries)... after walking through the mall and trying on jeans... yuck... what happened to the good old fashioned style jeans!!!!! Those hip huggers don't do anything for this 47-year-old butt!!!!

It could be accept by persons so comfortably. I imagine many individuals will agree with you. That you're perfect that we are able to to not count on other people. Who we are able to to rely on is ourself.
