Today we pay tribute to this great man who so impacted our nation. Let me encourage you to read some of his words to be reminded of Christian concepts that formed a foundation for his life and that so need to be practiced in society.
Here's a great example of one of those statements.
I decided early to give my life to something eternal and absolute. Not to these little gods that are here today and gone tomorrow, but to God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. From "Rediscovering Lost Values," Feb. 28, 1954
ML King's never cease to stir me. He was far from a perfect man but was directly involved in expanding God's Kingdom to his generation.... regardlessly of color. His writings of refuting and exposing injustice read like and OT prophet and are no less meaningful 40 years later because similar injustices still prevail today.
I recently read that after Christmas and Easter, M.L King's Birthday commemoration should be the high point on the Christian calendar. Indeed!!!
